Mini Team

The Mini Team is made up of a team of young volunteers from Preston who have set up weekly youth and community activities for Mini Muslimah’s (girls) and Mini Mu’mins (boys) aged 6-13 years.

Since November 2012, The Mini Muslimah Crew Leader and a team of volunteers have planned and led youth activities term- time on Saturday’s for over 100 young girls at the Quwwat Education Centre. We try and make the innovation and creativity that goes into the planning and preparation of the activities commendable and work closely together as a team to make sure the session/ projects are fully enjoyed by our Mini Muslimah’s. Some of activities include cookery, adventurous trips, arts and crafts workshops, Nasheed events, swimming, sports events and much more.

More recently, The Mini Muslimah Crew were humble winners of the Youth Leadership award @ Fusion 2015 sponsored by BAE systems. After the marvellous and unexpected win it was decided to extend the team to make The Mini Mu’min Crew with opportunities for boys aged 6+ too. With all praise to Allah a good foundation was set for the boys where Mini Mu’min’s enjoy sporting activities, trips, games, developing life skills like the visit to KAOS High Wire Adventure, baking and themed sessions.

Alhamdulillah as a team of volunteers we are passionate about empowering young people, enabling them to maximize their capabilities and encouraging our Mini Teamer’s towards receiving the best Tarbiyah (guidance) whilst growing up and making new friends in a safe and secure environment. We provide the ‘Mini Teamer’s with a variety of opportunities that promote healthy choices, nurture leadership abilities and developing other useful skills needed later on in life.

Sessions run from 1-3pm normally twice a month, attracting boys and girls from all over Preston. Children from all backgrounds flock to the club bringing a rich and vibrant feel to the place.
