Why should i send my child to Madrasah?

The Madrasah is managed by Preston Muslim Society, Quwwatul Islam. The head teacher and co-coordinator of Quwwat Education Centre is Moulana Khalid Ibrahim. Should you have any concerns, queries, advice or recommendations please put them in writing or email info@quwwatulislam.org.uk.

how are students taught?

Students will be organised into small groups and all subjects will be taught by specially trained teachers. Instead of one teacher teaching all the subjects, the teachers will move from one classroom to the next with students seeing more than one teacher for their subjects.

what is the average class size?

At present we have an average of 18 children per class in our Arabic and Islamic Studies class, with an additional teacher’s assistant in some of the classes.

What are the operating hours?

the mainstream classes operate between 5pm and 7pm and hifz class operates from 5pm to 7.45. Timings defer for different year groups.

What is your admissions criteria?

Due to high demand Madrasah has a admissions criteria which you can find here.

When are the application forms available?

Demand for Madrasah places is very high. Due to this, our new intake is usually full 6 months before the start of the new Madrasah year. Application forms are available between February and April. Online forms are available on our website, if you have trouble applying please contact us and our admin team will assist.

can parents attend the madrasah?

Parents are welcome to visit the Madrasah to discuss their child’s progress. However, the Madrasah policy requires that all visitors report to the office and in most cases book an apointment. This policy has been created to avoid unnecessary interruption of classes and to assist in providing a safe and secure learning environment. Unfortunately, due to the high demand a parent tour of the building is not possible during operational hours and annual Parent Induction days are the only times when a visit is possible.

DO YOU HAVE AN INDUCTION PROGRAM FOR NEW STARTERS?

Yes, once all applications are finalised we expect all parents to attend an induction program. Key people are introduced and Madrasah processes are explained. Induction evening also gives an opurtunity for parents to ask any questions to the management.

DOES THE MADRASAH ACCEPT DONATIONS?

Yes we do take donations, and Alhumdulilah’ we have some very generous donors. However all donations must be LILLAH ONLY and given with the knowledge that the money will be used in one of our many exciting projects. In the case of any fundraising we do all monies collected for a particular charity or project will only be donated as specified when collected.

WHAT DO I DO IF I WANT TO MAKE A COMPLAINT?

If you have any complaints or suggestions concerning the Madrasah then please do not hesitate to approach Moulana Khalid. If you are not happy with the outcome then you may wish to contact a member of the Madrasah Committee. All complaints will be dealt with in line with our complaints policy.
